Visits to NHS Services
Monitoring Health Services
Community Health Councils have a statutory right to visit hospitals, clinics and primary care establishments where NHS services are delivered. This involves GP practices, dental surgeries, opticians, pharmacists and nursing homes.
Our visits can be announced or unannounced.
Consistency, efficiency and sensitivity are important factors when carrying out monitoring visits and members must undertake training and receive any guidance required to assist them in this capacity.
Monitoring & Scrutiny Visiting Outcome Reports 2019/2020
NB - Due to the coronavirus pandemic and changes in working practices, visiting is currently not being undertaken as part of our Monitoring and Scrutiny function. Also, Health Board responses to monitoring reports are on hold.
